I have just bought a Sherman VC Firefly to restore - at the moment this is a pile of parts.

My approach:

2015/16 = Look for documents, photographs, manuals and missing parts.
2017/18 = Rebuild vehicle

So, this will not be quick!

I know the British Army sold some Sherman Fireflies to the Argentine army and would like to know if anyone here might be able to help me find the following items:

1) Instruction Manual for the Firefly, especially the 17 pdr gun - happy to buy original, or scan/photocopy in any language. I think the British Army sold the manuals with the tanks... there are none here.

2) Elevation Mechanism for the 17pdr gun - this fits between the turret basket and the bottom of the gun:
3) Trigger mechanism for the 17 pdr gun

In the photograph below, the white section is the Trigger mechanism, the brass part below this is the elevation mechanism:



4) Recoil Guard - the white metal parts in these photos which surround the breech ring (big green bit in the middle).






If anyone has any photos from the inside of any of the Argentinian Firefly tanks, I would be very interested to see those as well please?

Also, if anyone has any other parts for sale, please let me know - I am happy to have spare parts depending what they are.

Missing you have, I do not know if they can find here in Argentina, but found it will be a difficult task sent to UK for our customs laws.
