Ciao Cesare, ho sempre pensato che i veri amanti dell'Italia, siano fuori dall'Italia...è vero?

Saludos

This a possible identification of an Italian Bersaglieri Motorised Marksman of the 10. e 10.bis compagnie moto (motorcycle companie).
He is on a motorcycle armed with a 6.5mm Breda 30 machine gun.
Near Sidi Omar in the Butnan District of Libya during the Western Desert Campaign. November 1940.

10th Bersaglieri - The Regiment was based at Palermo and deployed to Libya in 1940. The 10th Bersaglieri unit saw service in Bardia and Tobruk, but was destroyed in combat in February 1941. Reformed at Palermo then sent back to North Africa in December 1942, where it was lost again in Tunisia. The unit was reformed for a third time in Palermo and served in Sicily during the Allied Invasion/Campaign there, where once again the regiment was lost.

In this photo the mounted Breda 30 machine gun is considered by some as being far too heavy for a platform on two wheels and dangerously blocks the view of the rider.

The Bersaglieri have always been a high-mobility light infantry unit, and can still be recognized by the distinctive wide brimmed hat that they wear (only in dress uniform in modern times), decorated with black capercaillie feathers.
