I had never seen one! .... I thought it was cylindrical, similar to standard container supply
The space in the front goes the standard parachute container?

Is part of the container the cap is seen in this photo?

Yes, it looks like it! here some more, I was having one of my Welbikes dropped at the original landing zone near Arnhem a couple years back, but the Dakota broke down, and there was no room in the replacement plane (Russian Antanov)
