That film was made in 1943. It would have been very generous of the US army to loan the film company such a vehicle in the middle of a major war.
But It was shot with the cooperation of the US Army Ground Forces, and as it was an experimental vehicle, never standardized, maybe it wasn't of any tactical use ,so was loaned for the film.
