I have used the 7x50-16 tires now for 4 years and finally have collectet a complete T 1 kit.
I have only good things to say using the bigger wheels, but as you say, you will get a narrow turn, slower take off, but when you get used to it, you will love it.
On this years Jeepfabrikken winter tour, I could go after the 6.00x16 even they used chains on because of the height.

Just drop me a pm or mail if you want more info.

Here are some pics of my jeep:

stevewillys escribió:Hi all, this is my project i recently bought in England, body number 95098 an engine was supplied with the vehicle but is not the original. Engine number is 422644. Gearbox and transfer box is missing and well as many other parts!!!! But vehicle is very original and never restored. Believed to have stood for many years in California. It is olive drab under the grey, under the front bumper is written WMRS which was a naval research base. Any comments, help with history etc gratefully received. Rebuild commencing.....!
